I missed my first class of today. PH142 Biostatistics.
I am going to die now.
So the rest of day didn’t look up at all.
Just a few hours ago I found out that the preschool that I have been volunteering at for the last 1 1/2 years got shut down due to the state-wide budget cuts.
At first I didn’t believe it and was in complete denial. In my head I just thought, “no, that can’t be… I was supposed to visit tomorrow morning to drop by to see how the new school year was going.”
But it’s true. The program director for the program confirmed it. And it sucks. It really does.
I am however, kind of excited to start investing my time to a new school. I decided to try out and volunteer at a bilingual (Cantonese/English) classroom at a preschool located at Chinatown in Oakland called Yuk Yau.
Well, I guess we’ll just see how that goes in the next few weeks.
I went to the Berkeley Comcast office today. I don’t know why, but this company just LOVES to fuck with me. Other than making me wait more than three weeks to have a “technician” come by to “set up” my internet, they also took down the wrong SSN for my account AND spelled my name wrong.
Other than that, today was not really significant. It’s only 9PM and I’m already planning to knock out early to get a head start for tomorrow. At least I’d have the season premier of Modern Family to look forward to. <- end rant.
“Yes, the date is now officially for Spring 2011 Commencement, it is Saturday morning May 21 in Zellerbach Auditorium. Students are able to participate if they are graduating Fall 2010, Spring 2011, or Summer 2011. Let me know if you plan to participate so I can get a “head count”.”—Anatole (Tony) Soyka, M.A. Academic Advisor, Public Health Undergraduate Program University of California, Berkeley
